As our "Carrier" fleet is starting to age, the Navy is planning a new "Class" of carriers to join the Nimitz class carriers.The "CVN 21" Class Aircraft Carrier. First in the class, the USS Gerald R Ford CVN 78, is due to be commissioned in 2015. Outfitted with the latest technology and operated by a crew 2/3rds the size of the Nimitiz Carriers, the "Ford" Carriers will be an "unbeatable force"....
My "Proposal" is to lobby the "Secretary of the Navy", to name the CVN 79, the USS Arizona. Commemorating the "Battleship" that was lost, the 1177 sailors who died needlessly, and all of those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Reaffirming to the world, that Japan, "Woke a Sleeping Giant"!!!!! Let December 7th not be known as, "The Japanese Victory at Pearl Harbor", but as, "The Beginning of the End of World War II"....
